A single-stage compressor is a compressor in which the refrigerant is compressed in a single step, whereas a multi-stage compressor is a compressor in which the refrigerant is compressed in multiple steps. An inverter compressor is a type of compressor that uses an inverter to control the speed of the compressor motor, resulting in energy savings and improved temperature control. Inverter compressors can be single-stage or multi-stage.
